For years, Mustang Week has been one of the most recognized automotive gatherings in the country. Thousands of Mustang owners, Ford enthusiasts, racers, builders, and aftermarket companies have traveled from across North America to be part of the annual celebration. Now, for the first time ever, the event is making its way to Charlotte, North Carolina, creating a major win for the Carolinas automotive community. The move marks a historic moment for Mustang Week. After 23 years of tradition along the South Carolina coast at Myrtle Beach, organizers selected Charlotte and Concord as the new home for the event. With world-class facilities, a deep motorsports culture, and a thriving enthusiast community, the Charlotte area offers an opportunity to expand the experience in ways that were never possible before.

The event will take place August 24 through August 29, 2026, with activities spread across Charlotte Motor Speedway, zMAX Dragway, Kannapolis, Concord, Fort Mill, and several other locations throughout the region. Organizers expect more than 30,000 attendees and approximately 5,000 vehicles during the week, making it one of the largest automotive gatherings ever held in the Charlotte area. One of the biggest advantages of moving Mustang Week to Charlotte is access to some of the most iconic motorsports venues in America. Participants will have opportunities to experience road course driving on the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL, drag racing at zMAX Dragway, autocross competition, drifting exhibitions, ride-alongs, burnout contests, and the famous Mustang Week car show. The schedule has been expanded well beyond a traditional cruise-in, turning Mustang Week into a full motorsports festival.

Friday’s All-Ford Cruise-In will feature hundreds of Ford vehicles and dozens of vendors, while Saturday’s Official Mustang Week Car Show will bring together some of the best Mustangs in the country. The event will conclude with Mustang Week Mayhem, featuring drifting action, motorsports demonstrations, entertainment, and a massive fireworks display. For Charlotte, the arrival of Mustang Week represents much more than a car show. It is another sign that the Carolinas have become one of the premier destinations for automotive culture in America. Between Charlotte AutoFair, HPX, Street Car Takeover, major NASCAR events, and now Mustang Week, the region continues to attract enthusiasts from across the country. The combination of racing facilities, aftermarket businesses, manufacturers, and passionate car communities makes the Charlotte area a natural fit for an event of this magnitude.
At Street Cars 101 Magazine, we have long said that the Carolinas are one of the strongest automotive regions in the country. The addition of Mustang Week only reinforces that belief. Whether you own a Fox Body, SN95, S197, S550, Dark Horse, Shelby, or simply appreciate Ford performance, Mustang Week Charlotte 2026 is shaping up to be a must-attend event. Charlotte has become the center of car culture, and Mustang Week is the latest chapter in that story.
