At Carolina Motorsports Park that we realized was only one hour and twenty-five minutes from our headquarters, the sound of engines on this road course carried more meaning than just horsepower and speed. It carried purpose. The Tour DeLux Rally, better known as TDR transformed a day at the track into something far greater than a typical automotive gathering. Under the leadership of owner Steve Koss (Taurus twin), the event proved that driving passion and community impact can run side by side at full throttle.
Founded in 2020, Tour DeLux Rally emerged from years of informal drives among enthusiasts who wanted more than just meetups in parking lots. What started as a loose network evolved into a structured rally group with a clear mission: bring people together through driving experiences while raising money for meaningful causes. The target audience is simple but powerful, real enthusiasts who want to experience their cars the way they were built to be experienced.

That philosophy is exactly why TDR chose charity parade laps instead of a traditional car show format. This is not about standing beside your car polishing chrome or talking specs. This is about getting behind the wheel and feeling the machine come alive. As Koss puts it, they are trained car enthusiasts who would rather drive than sit still. Parade laps offer that rare opportunity for drivers to push their cars on a real road course in a controlled, accessible environment while still welcoming a wide range of participants.

The event itself was more than just laps around the circuit. It was a full experience. Cars and motorcycles shared the spotlight, engines revved throughout the day, and the energy never dipped. That all-day atmosphere is critical to what makes TDR events stand out. It is not just about track time, it is about immersion. The sights, the sounds, and the shared excitement create a space where enthusiasts connect, learn, and feed off each other’s passion.

For those who have never experienced parade laps, the feeling is hard to replicate anywhere else. Being on a professional track like Carolina Motorsports Park is both invigorating and eye-opening. It is where drivers truly begin to understand what their cars are capable of. The corners tighten your focus, the straights open up opportunity, and every lap builds confidence. It is controlled adrenaline, the kind that leaves a lasting impression long after the engines cool.

CAROLINA MOTORSPORTS/ CMP
Carolina Motorsports Park is the Carolinas’ only purpose-built road racing facility, located in Kershaw about an hour from Charlotte. Designed to be family-friendly, it offers an authentic motorsports experience for both racers and fans.
The track was developed by enthusiasts including Joe Hooker and Bob Humphreys, built on the former Kershaw Airport, and designed by Alan Wilson. The 2.27-mile course opened in 1999, with a karting facility added in 2010. Operations shifted to Motorsports Capital in 2019, with ownership finalized in 2020, continuing its focus on delivering a top-tier experience for all visitors.
But what truly defines this event is its purpose. TDR partnered with KARE, a local organization known for directly supporting individuals and families in need throughout the Kershaw and Lancaster County areas. For Koss and the TDR community, this partnership goes beyond writing a check. It is about trust and impact. KARE’s commitment to ensuring resources reach those who genuinely need help aligns perfectly with TDR’s mission of meaningful giving.

Kershaw Area Resource Exchange (KARE) is a nonprofit dedicated to helping neighbors in need by providing practical support such as crisis financial assistance, food relief, and resource connections to individuals and families facing hardship in the local community.
This event also extended beyond the track. TDR participants didn’t just show up, run laps, and leave. They rallied together, continuing the journey to Greenville, South Carolina, for the Euro Auto Fest car show and participating in several VIP experiences along the way. That movement from track to rally to show encapsulates everything TDR represents. It is not a single moment, it is a full lifestyle experience built around driving, connection, and giving back. When asked to describe the day in one word, the answer was simple. The best. Not because of the cars alone, but because of what those cars helped accomplish. Smiles were created, passengers experienced the thrill of a lifetime, and funds were raised for a cause that matters.
For those who missed it, the message is clear. You didn’t just miss a car event. You missed an opportunity to be part of something bigger. A day where performance met purpose, where every lap carried meaning, and where a community proved that car culture is still capable of driving real change.
