Lexington’s Automotive Aviation Mashup Proves Lightning Can Strike Twice

October 4, 2025 | Lexington, NC– Some car shows fade after year one. The Fly High Motoring Expo? It just sold out again. Saturday’s second annual event at 1673 Aviation Way proved that Tamsen Beroth’s vision of combining horsepower with aviation wasn’t just a novelty, it’s become one of North Carolina’s most anticipated automotive gatherings. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the venue transformed into a four-hour celebration of everything that rolls, roars, and occasionally takes flight. Clear skies, packed grounds, and the rumble of engines mixing with the sound of planes overhead. This wasn’t your typical parking lot show.

More Than Just Metal

The vehicle diversity alone told the story: domestics parked beside imports, classics next to exotics, trucks flanking motorcycles. Car clubs rolled in together, their matching builds lined up like family photos. Solo builders who spent years perfecting their rides found themselves surrounded by others who understood the obsession.

It’s the kind of show where a ’69 Camaro owner spends twenty minutes talking suspension geometry with someone who builds drift missiles, where a rat rod sits comfortably next to a six-figure exotic, and nobody blinks. That’s the magic Tamsen and her Speedology Lifestyle Solutions team have cultivated, a space where automotive passion transcends categories.

The Guests Who Get It

Special guests elevated the day beyond just looking at cars. The Kimball Sisters brought their signature energy and one of their race cars. Baby Girl Florida connected with fans who’ve followed her journey. Scarlettes Performance with the horsepower monsters on site. But the standout might have been David Ankin of ToyMakerz, whose reputation as one of the most approachable builders in the business was fully earned. Watching him geek out over attendees’ builds with the same enthusiasm they showed for his work? That’s the difference between a celebrity appearance and genuine community building.

For the Street Cars 101 Magazine Published Family members and published builders, past TV show Inside the Scenes features, and longtime friends of the magazine; it felt like a homecoming. These weren’t just attendees; they were walking proof that the car community thrives on shared stories and mutual respect.

Aviation Meets Automotive

What sets Fly High apart from every other regional show is right there in the name. Live plane fly-ins added a dimension that kept heads on swivels all day. There’s something about the proximity, ground-pounding muscle cars sharing space with aircraft that captures what automotive culture is really about: the engineering, the freedom, the pure joy of machines doing what they’re built for. It’s ambitious. It’s different. And based on Saturday’s turnout, it’s exactly what people want.

Purpose Behind the Passion

Beyond the burnouts and build showcases, the event stayed true to its mission of giving back. A portion of proceeds benefited The Life Center of Davidson County, ensuring the day’s excitement translated into tangible community support. That balance is thrilling entertainment that also serves a greater purpose which is the Tamsen Beroth signature. Since founding Speedology Lifestyle Solutions in 2021, she’s focused on creating safe, family-friendly events where motorsports culture and community support aren’t competing priorities; they’re the same thing. With over two decades of experience across automotive, technology, and marketing, Tamsen isn’t just throwing car shows. She’s building traditions.

Year Two in the Books

As engines cooled and planes taxied to their final positions, the verdict was clear: the Fly High Motoring Expo isn’t a fluke or a one-hit wonder. It’s a legitimate annual destination that car enthusiasts are already circling on their calendars for 2026. Two consecutive sellouts. Growing special guest roster. Expanding community impact. Increasing diversity of builds and attendees. The trajectory isn’t just upward, it’s soaring. If you missed this year’s event, mark your calendar now. The Fly High Motoring Expo has proven it’s not going anywhere, except higher.
