In this February 2025 issue of Street Cars 101 Magazine we collaborate an American beauty icon with the girl next door Lux Monroe. We are excited to share a heartfelt story that highlights the bond between family and the passion for classic cars. Brian Shaw’s 1968 Mercury Cougar, aka SinCity Kitty, is a true American muscle showstopper. This inspiring journey of a cherished Cougar, which originally began as a project intended for a middle son’s first car. After sitting in the backyard for six years due to life’s unexpected turns, including a divorce that brought the Cougar into the settlement, the car was reborn in 2014 when Brian moved to Alabama. Joined by his father, they embarked on an ambitious Rotisserie build that would take them two and a half years to complete. Inspired by a gasser they’d seen in a magazine, the father-son duo transformed the Cougar into a stunning piece of automotive art. This vehicle is more than just a car; it carries immense personal significance and serves as a powerful reminder of the time spent together, learning new skills and creating lasting memories. Now living with his son and granddaughters, Brian shares stories of the build, ensuring that the legacy of the Cougar will endure for generations to come. Today, the Cougar serves as a treasured family heirloom, regularly attending car shows and sparking joy and pride. Brian looks forward to passing it down to his son and granddaughters, knowing that its story will continue to inspire future generations.
