Hemmings is thrilled to announce Dezerland Park as the title sponsor for Musclepalooza Southeast, part of the organization’s 70th anniversary celebration. This exciting event for muscle car and drag racing enthusiasts will take place on October 12 at Orlando Speed World Dragway in Orlando, Fla.
“Hemmings is excited to welcome Dezerland Park as the title sponsor of our Musclepalooza event this year in Orlando,” said Jonathan Shaw, president of Hemmings. “We want to provide the best experience for our muscle car enthusiast community, and Dezerland Park is the perfect partner to make that happen, particularly with their love of collector cars.”
Dezerland Park is Orlando’s largest indoor attraction and boasts over 20 thrilling attractions and is a haven for adrenaline junkies and entertainment enthusiasts alike. They are also home to the Orlando Auto Museum, where enthusiasts can marvel at one of the world’s most extensive car collections featuring everything from the classics to modern beauties, totaling over 200 million dollars.
“Dezerland Park and the Orlando Auto Museum have become Central Florida’s hub for auto enthusiasts, car shows and more,” said Michael Dezer, founder of both Dezerland Park and the Orlando Auto Museum. “As a lifelong collector myself, we’re excited to kick off our partnership with Hemmings at Musclepalooza Southeast with a day of amazing racing and events for enthusiasts from around the country.”
Since 2004, Musclepalooza has become a premier event for car enthusiasts, builders, and families, showcasing vintage and modern muscle cars, muscle trucks, hot rods, and drag cars. Regional car clubs are invited to participate, with the event featuring various classes of drag racing offering $15,000 in payouts and awards. A detailed schedule is provided before each event.
Drag racing classes cater to a wide range of speeds, from 14-second runs to those faster than nine seconds and include categories for late models (1979 and later), early models (1978 or earlier), and trucks. The Orlando event now features additional classes exclusively for 1960-1980 Muscle Cars, including the Florida Muscle Car Drags (FMCD) Stock Appearing and FMCD Day Two categories. These classes require all stock tires, factory-appealing looks, and no major body modifications.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to explore Hemmings’ latest branding and comprehensive suite of services, designed to streamline the collector car buying and selling process. These services encompass valuation, shipping, insurance, and the innovative Pay + Title service, ensuring secure payment and vehicle titling across state lines.
