It’s the most wonderful time of the year—and we’re not talking about Christmas. The annual Street Car Takeover Weekend event at zMax Dragway has begun with no rain anticipated. Meaning there will be some hardcore street cars/drag cars doing less than 10 seconds in a 1/4 mile, and we will not let you miss it! We will provide daily coverage of the Street Car Takeover, a three-day event in Charlotte, North Carolina to keep you informed about the excitement. First, zMax Dragway is one of the largest and most popular tracks in the United States. As the home of the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals and the NHRA Carolina Nationals, only important events occur on this track. So know that means Street Car Takeover is one of the big dogs, and they bring top-of-the line fast vehicles with them from all over the US to compete. Drag racers from all over come to make a pass on this famous drag strip, so anticipate a crowded arena and plenty of racing.

Thursday is the introductory day/car meet, which takes place at Twin Peaks Restaurant, 5 minutes from the track and across the street from Concord Mills Mall (map is below). If you get lost, believe me, you won’t miss it since thousands of people attend this event and you see vehicles everywhere. It is a good chance to see some of the vehicles that will be competing. It’s a great opportunity to see some of the racing cars, as well as the sponsors and vendors who will be on site at the track, and to meet some of the celebrities who will be there. Even if you missed out yesterday, there is still time to attend the races and sign up. We will upload today’s roll racing highlights tomorrow and have a few interviews for you, so stay tuned!
