The only way to describe this reimagined beauty of a 1970 Charger is pure unadulterated power. Well, that is how I would describe it. Walking up to look at it, you would think this car was nicely restored or very well kept. This car takes all its cues from the original, but that is where the similarities stop.
“Ghost represents the evolution of its predecessors and builds on SpeedKore’s mission to fabricate the most advanced 1970 Dodge Charger in the world,” said Jim Kacmarcik, president and owner of SpeedKore, a Kacmarcik Enterprises Company. “Our goal is to meld timeless design, advanced composites and reliable performance to redefine what the American muscle car should be.”
The original Dodge Charger was made of metal and steel. The Speedkore version is made of high grade carbon fiber which is made by their own process. Couple the high grade carbon fiber body to Speedkore chassis which is built for speed and handling. In many ways this car has a revolutionary design.
Ghost gets her power from a Dodge Hellcat that has been reworked. It is a 6.2 Liter V8 kicking out 700 horsepower to the rear wheels using a TREMEC TR-6060 6-speed manual transmission that pushes its power through a Driveshaft Shop carbon-fiber driveshaft and Strange nine inch rear end. The V8 is super charged and features a one-off cold air and breathes through a custom Speedkore-fabricated four-into-one headers and exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers.
The profile of Ghost sits much lower due to all of the Carbon-fiber. The fuel and oil lines are covered by the CAD-designed Speedkore perimeter. This design provides a greater degree of safety. The 14 point roll cage is connected to a 4×2 inch steel chassis. This provides three-dimensional rigidity and allows for a wider track and longer wheelbase and sharpen handling dynamics further. It has an Ididit steering column and a Woodward rack.
All this rides on a Detroit Speed double A-arm front suspension and custom four-bar diagonal link rear suspension by SpeedKore. Stopping power is provided by Brembo six-piston calipers that clamp down on 14-inch rotors up front and dual Brembo four-piston calipers at the rear to bring the Charger to a quick halt. Custom HRE 19×9-inch front and 20×12-inch rear wheels wrapped in 265/35ZR19 and 345/30ZR20 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires complete the setup.
The grille is EVOD machined, the center grille is milled from billet aluminum and then it is Cerakoted in a black finish and then fitted with a set of custom LED headlights from Dapper Lighting and JW Speaker. There is more detailing done with machined aluminum brightwork. The Charger profile shows shaved rain gutters. The glass is flush-mounted and trim less glass to create an elongated greenhouse that allows the Charger’s lines to flow uninterrupted. A SpeedKore carbon fiber taillight panel n complements the Charger’s time-honored “Coke bottle” contour.
The inside of the car has a custom carbon-fiber dash, door panels and rear interior quarter panels, the seats have carbon-fiber backs and custom leather seats made by Manda Marie. The gauges cluster is from Classic Intruments. Ghost has a custom SpeedKore center console. Sounds are made from Kicker Audio in the form of a 2000-watt Bluetooth-audio system.
The car gives you all of the old Mopar looks in a 2024 package.
